Label Settings

The Labels panel controls all text labels in your scene, including value labels, category labels, scale labels, and custom labels.

Global Label Settings

Max Labels - Maximum number of labels to display (1-1000). Helps manage performance with large datasets.

Min Value to Show - Minimum data value threshold for labels to appear (0-100). Labels below this value won't be displayed.

Label Types

Labels can be of different types:

  • Value Labels: Show numeric values on or near your data points
  • Category Labels: Show category names (typically on the X-axis)
  • Scale Labels: Appear on the Y-axis scale
  • Custom Labels: User-defined labels that can be linked to data properties or positioned freely

Label Configuration

Each label has the following settings:

Basic Settings

Type - The type of label (value, category, scale, custom).

Scope - How the label is applied:

  • Each Datapoint: One label per data point
  • Single Instance: One label for the entire dataset
  • Free Floating: Positioned independently without data binding

Linked To Property - The data property this label displays (e.g., value, category, geoId). For custom labels, can also link to column titles or use custom text.

Dataset Selection - For per-datapoint labels, select which dataset this label applies to (when multiple selections exist).

Enabled - Toggle label visibility.

Anchor Positioning

Anchor Point - For value and category labels, the position on the data entity where the label attaches:

  • Top: Top of the bar/entity
  • Center: Middle of the bar/entity
  • Bottom: Bottom of the bar/entity
  • Value (line charts): At the data point value
  • Visual Center (geo): Center of the landmass
  • Capital (geo): Capital city location

Attach To (Custom Labels Only) - Where to anchor custom labels:

  • Free Position: Positioned using absolute coordinates
  • Data Bounding Box: Attached to the data container's bounding box
  • Other Entity Anchor: Attached to a specific entity's anchor point

Bounding Box Position (Data Container Mode) - When attached to data bounding box, select position:

  • X: Left, Center, Right
  • Y: Bottom, Middle, Top
  • Z: Back, Center, Front

Entity Anchor (Other Entity Mode) - Select a specific anchor from available entities in the scene.

Transform

Position - Position offset [X, Y, Z] for labels. Range: -5 to 5 for each axis. When using anchors, this is added as an offset from the anchor point.

Rotation - Rotation [X, Y, Z] in degrees.

Scale - Scale [X, Y, Z] multiplier.

Text Settings

Font Size - Font size for labels (0.05 - 2.0).

Text Color - Text color for labels.

Font Family - Font family for labels. Supports system fonts and workspace custom fonts.

Font Variant - Font weight and style (Regular, Bold, Italic, etc.).

Text Anchor - Horizontal and vertical text alignment (9-point grid: Top-Left, Top-Center, Top-Right, Middle-Left, Middle-Center, Middle-Right, Bottom-Left, Bottom-Center, Bottom-Right).

Number Formatting (Value and Custom Labels)

Decimal Places - Number of decimal places for numeric labels (0-10).

Use Thousands Separator - Format numbers with thousands separator (e.g., 1,000 instead of 1000).

Prefix - Text prefixed to value labels (e.g., "$" for currency).

Suffix - Text suffixed to value labels (e.g., "kg" for weight).

Animation (Value Labels Only)

Animation Type - How value labels animate:

  • None: Shows final value immediately
  • Count-up: Counts from start to end value (shows "—" before animation)
  • Scale-in: Label scales from 0 to full size from its anchor point

Duration (s) - Duration for value label animations in seconds (0.1 - 5.0).

Trigger - When the animation starts:

  • On Start: Animation begins when the scene starts
  • On Value Reached: Animation begins when the bar/entity reaches its target value

Offset (s) - Time offset for animation start (-5 to +5 seconds). Positive values delay, negative values start early.

Background

Show Background - Toggle background for labels.

Background Color - Background color for labels.

Padding Top - Vertical padding at top of label backgrounds (0 - 0.3).

Padding Right - Horizontal padding at right of label backgrounds (0 - 0.3).

Padding Bottom - Vertical padding at bottom of label backgrounds (0 - 0.3).

Padding Left - Horizontal padding at left of label backgrounds (0 - 0.3).

Corner Radius - Border radius for label backgrounds (0 - 0.2).

Special Settings

Country Name Format (Category Labels in Geo Scenes) - Format for country names:

  • Full Name: e.g., "Belgium"
  • ISO Alpha-3: e.g., "BEL"
  • ISO Alpha-2: e.g., "BE"
  • Localized: Based on browser language

Custom Text (Single/Free Labels) - Custom text content for labels not linked to data properties.

Text Depth (3D Export Only) - Depth/thickness of text in 3D exports.‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌
