Italy

Italy provides three classification systems: administrative divisions (Regioni and Province), Eurostat NUTS regions (levels 2–3), and ISTAT statistical region codes.

NUTS Regions

Eurostat NUTS 2021 classification for Italy. NUTS-1 is not exposed separately as it maps 1:1 to the five geographic macro-regions.

The Italian National Statistical Institute (ISTAT) uses 3-digit region codes for statistical publications.
