Global Label Settings

Max Labels – Maximum number of labels to display (1-1000). Helps manage performance with large datasets.
Min Value to Show – Minimum data value threshold for labels to appear (0-100). Labels below this value won't be displayed.
Geo Label Language – Language for geographic labels (geo scenes only):
  • English
  • Deutsch
  • Français

Label Types

Labels can be of different types:

  • Value Labels: Show numeric values on or near your data points (default, cannot be deleted)
  • Category Labels: Show category names, typically on the X-axis (default, cannot be deleted)
  • Scale Labels: Appear on the Y-axis scale (default, cannot be deleted)
  • Custom Labels: User-defined labels that can be linked to data properties, positioned freely, or attached to entities
  • Geo Anchor Labels: Labels anchored to geographic coordinates (geo scenes only)

Label Configuration

Each label has the following settings:

Line Breaks

Controls for multi-line text wrapping:

Max Width – Maximum text width before wrapping (0-5). Set to 0 for no wrapping ("None").
Line Height – Line spacing multiplier (0.8 - 2.0).
Word Wrap – How text wraps at max width:
  • None: No wrapping
  • Word: Wrap at word boundaries
  • Hyphenate (EN/DE): Wrap with hyphenation

3D Export Settings

Text Depth – Depth/thickness of text in 3D exports:
  • Thin
  • Medium
  • Thick

Data Binding

Type – The type of label (value, category, scale, custom, geoAnchor).
Scope – How the label is applied:
  • Each Datapoint: One label per data point
  • Single Instance: One label for the entire dataset
  • Free Floating: Positioned independently without data binding
  • Geographic Anchor: Anchored to a specific geographic coordinate (geo scenes only)
Dataset Selection – For per-datapoint labels, select which dataset this label applies to (when multiple selections exist). Options include "All Datasets" and individual selection names.
Highlight Filter – Filter which data points receive labels:
  • All: Labels on all data points
  • Highlighted: Labels only on highlighted data points
  • Not Highlighted: Labels only on non-highlighted data points

Geo Datapoint Source (Geo scenes, per-datapoint scope) - Which geographic features receive labels:

  • Active: Features with data values
  • Inactive: Context features without data (outline-only regions)
  • All: All features
Linked To Property – The data property this label displays. Options depend on label type:
  • Data properties (e.g., value, category)
  • Geo feature properties (geo scenes):
    • Feature Names
    • Capital Cities
    • State/Province Names (admin-1 level only)
    • State/Province Capitals (admin-1 level only)
  • Dynamic Column Titles (single/free scope):
    • Column Title: Value (Y)
    • Column Title: Category (X)
    • Column Title: Group (Z)
    • Column Title: Label
  • "None (Use Custom Text)" for manual text entry
Custom Text – Custom text content for labels not linked to data properties. Available for single, free-floating, and geo-anchored labels.

Geo Feature Picker (Geo scenes, single scope) - Select a specific geographic feature when linked to a geo property.

Geo Anchor Position (Geo scenes, free/geoAnchor scope) - Geographic coordinates for positioning:

  • Latitude: -90 to 90
  • Longitude: -180 to 180

Geo Anchor Position Config (Geo scenes, per-datapoint with geo linked property) - Controls how geo labels are positioned relative to features:

  • Height (Y): Top, Center, Bottom
  • X Position: Capital, Feature Center
  • Z Position: Capital, Feature Center
Enabled – Toggle label visibility.

Anchor Positioning

Anchor Point – For value and category labels, the position on the data entity where the label attaches. Options vary by scene type:

Bar/Column charts:

  • Top: Top of the bar
  • Center: Middle of the bar
  • Bottom: Bottom of the bar

Line charts:

  • Value: At the data point value
  • Bottom: At the baseline

Geo scenes:

  • Top: Top of the extruded region
  • Center: Middle of the region
  • Bottom: Ground level
  • Visual Center: Center of the land mass
  • Capital City: At the capital city location
  • Custom Points: From country-specific anchor data

Attach To (Custom Labels Only) - Where to anchor custom labels:

  • Free Position: Positioned using absolute coordinates with an offset
  • Data Bounding Box: Attached to the data container's bounding box
  • Other Entity Anchor: Attached to a specific entity's anchor point

Bounding Box Position (Data Container Mode) - When attached to data bounding box, select from 27 anchor combinations:

  • X: Left, Center, Right
  • Y: Bottom, Middle, Top
  • Z: Back, Center, Front

Entity Anchor (Other Entity Mode) - Select a specific anchor from available entities in the scene, grouped by entity name.

Transform

Position – Position offset [X, Y, Z] for labels (-5 to 5). When using anchors, this is added as an offset from the anchor point.
Rotation – Rotation [X, Y, Z] in degrees (-180 to 180).
Scale – Scale [X, Y, Z] multiplier (0.1 to 5).

Text Settings

Font Size – Font size for labels (0.05 - 2.0).
Text Color – Text color for labels.
Font Family – Font family for labels. Available fonts include:
  • System fonts: Inter, Roboto, Roboto Condensed, Roboto Semi Condensed, Azeret Mono
